Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2025

fitmono ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

1. Information we collect

When you register for fitmono, we collect your name, email address, and optionally your phone number. These are used to create and identify your account.

When you use the meal scanner, you upload photos of food. These images are processed by our AI service to generate nutritional data and are not stored permanently on our servers beyond the session unless you explicitly save the result.

We collect usage data such as pages visited, features used, and session duration to help us improve the product. This data is aggregated and not linked to your identity without your consent.

If you subscribe to a premium plan, our payment processor collects billing information. We do not store card details on our servers.

2. How we use your information

To provide and improve the fitmono service, including meal scanning, meal planning, and progress tracking.

To send you account-related emails such as OTP codes, receipts, and important service updates.

To personalise your experience and recommend relevant content such as meal plans suited to your profile.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database hosted on a secure cloud provider. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard TLS/SSL protocols.

Access to the production database is restricted to authorised personnel only and requires multi-factor authentication.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

4. Cookies and tracking

fitmono uses essential cookies to maintain your login session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

We may use anonymised analytics tools to understand how users navigate the app. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect certain features such as staying logged in.

5. Third-party services

We use Google Gemini API to power our AI meal analysis. Food images you scan are sent to Google's API for processing. Please refer to Google's privacy policy for details on how they handle this data.

Payment processing is handled by a PCI-compliant third-party provider. We do not receive or store full card numbers.

We may use cloud infrastructure providers (such as Vercel and Neon) to host the application. These providers operate under strict data processing agreements.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you. You can request a copy by contacting us at hello@fitmono.app.

You have the right to correct inaccurate data, restrict processing, or request deletion of your account.

If you are located in Nigeria, your data rights are governed by the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR). We are committed to compliance with the NDPR.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@fitmono.app and we will respond within 10 business days.

7. Children

fitmono is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by email.

Continued use of fitmono after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

9. Contact
